With increasing prices over the last 3 years and indeed year on year, Classic Cars are the investment commodity of choice. There is no other commodity or form of investment which allows you to smile quite so widely, as a car which you have lusted after since being a teenager. The cars bring back memories of an age gone by, and allow you to reminisce unlike stocks & shares, property or other more traditional methods of investing money. Most importantly, Classic Cars rise in value and you will not have to pay a penny in Capital Gains Tax once you sell them!!
With ‘Barn Finds’, being the romantic manner of finding one fast becoming rare, auctions and private purchases are the more common methods of gaining ownership, finished articles are all good and well, but they will come at a price.
So Classics in need of restoration is probably the best way to go about ownership, as you can commence the project and complete in 3 stages which will allow you to continue to enjoy over the Spring and Summer months, whilst you use the Autumn & Winter periods for the completion of the stages.
At Amari™ we have 35 years experience of SuperCars and Super Classics. This experience of restoration commenced with restoration of our own sales cars. We are now applying this expertise to customer cars, breaking down the work into 3 manageable segments, which allows you to enjoy the car, whilst we carry out the work. So depending on the condition the car is presented to us, we break down the work into:
- Initial make safe so that you can enjoy the car immediately (Initial Service as required, MoT, etc.);
- Medium term carrying out of all works which will need to be carried out (Any medium term suspension work, electrical work, wheels and tyres, cosmetic repairs, etc.)
- Long term completion of the outstanding works so that your asset remains on course to make you a rewarding return on your initial and ongoing investment (interior upholstery, replacing panels, repainting, etc.)
Owning a classic car in need of restoration need not be a back or indeed a bank breaking exercise. Manageable chunks will make the proposal a fun and rewarding experience as you will enjoy whilst we restore and costs can be budgeted in advance.
We can of course carry out the full work in one go, should you prefer (as most of our customers tend to want to) but the choice is yours.
